For crisp, cool afternoons, layering is a must!
I decided to transition one of my favorite summer prints for a look that’s totally on trend at the moment. Tribal printed dresses are really a no-brainer in the summer, but now they’re popping up in cold weather clothing too and I’m loving it. Great for giving winter ensembles a refreshing rustic vibe, bold prints, like this sweater dress I found at Marshalls, remind me of cozy log cabins and steamy wintery drinks. This particular dress also adds a fun splash of color to these darker days, which is oh so necessary this time of year.
Sweater dresses can be great for mixing up your winter wardrobe, however, they can definitely be a bit tricky to pull off. Often super tight and curve-hugging, it’s really important to find the right fit (I like to go with a looser/baggier styles) and fun, flattering print. I’ve noticed that adding loose, textured layers can also be key in pulling off this look. I chose to add thick, textured tights and an open-weave cardigan, giving me just the right amount of contrast and warmth on this very autumn day.
