I am constantly updating my wardrobe. My closet is essentially a revolving door of dresses, jeans and a few new trendy pieces. And while I love nothing more than dressing up in something new, I have learned that a good closet cleanout can bring forth some of the best finds. From classic LBDs to button-down skirts and culottes, this recent cleaning uncovered some real gems.

Unlike those save-it-for-forever types, I am the person who deeply enjoys getting rid of unused pieces (I'm looking at you low-rise jeans). So if I do happen to hang onto something after a closet purge, it means something.

I've had this pleated maxi skirt for years. I remember wearing it to my first fashion editor job 4 years ago! It has gotten me through meetings and lunch dates and even a baby shower or two yet I totally forgot about it until last week.
