MORE MAXI DAYS, PLEASE

Kaanapali, Hawaii

Maxi dresses reemerge every summer without fail. It seems that just as the days start getting longer, so do the dresses—and I love them. They are carefree, casual and they will simply never NOT be a thing. And to top it off, it seems to be the easiest piece to wear. I mean, let's face it, most maxis are not form-fitting and require minimal accessories (or even a bra!) So it's definitely a must-have for your next tropical vaca.

I wore this floral one all over Maui! I didn't expect to wear it so much, but it turns out it's great for day and night on the islands. I tossed it on for dinner at Mama's Fishouse and then wore it again as a  beach cover-up. I just couldn't get enough. What I can get enough of is these back-to-school campaigns and end of summer sales! We get it, September is approaching, but I don't love the reminder. Let's make these warm, maxi dress days last forever... Who's with me?

DOING DENIM

Beverly Hills, CA

Denim is always a ‘do. No matter the season, no matter the occasion, it’s a classic choice. And in the dead of summer, I love finding ways to wear pants or rompers, since I always go for the obvious dress when it’s so warm outside. I ADORE this piece from Anthropologie because the flared cut actually gives the appearance of a longer leg and the fitted top makes for a really flattering silhouette. It’s a jumper that’ll keep you cool on steamy days and transition well into fall with the addition of a tee or jacket.

It’s also a fun number to accessorize! Try either statement earrings or a neck scarf up top and some bolder booties or pumps on the bottom.

Sun-kissed

Los Angeles, CA

Summer is the season of easy, effortless style. At work, everyone jokes that I must have 27 daytime dresses and while it sounds ridiculous, I probably have even more! I just love the ease of styling a dress.  You don’t have to stress about a matching top or bottom; in one piece, you have a complete outfit. Therefore, it’s no surprise that I also love a good romper. Similarly effortless, it’s a fun alternative to a traditional dress. This one-and-done number from Anthropologie is undeniably chic and requires very little accessorizing. Great for afternoon lunches or even a warm-weather date night, this piece has me wishing summer would never end!
