GETTING WILD(ER)

Mar Vista, CA

Animal prints have been a thing for a while now. But I have never really been big into wearing them. No matter how many spots I'd see in fashion magazines, I never felt myself when I tried them on. But lately, with all the exotic options available, there are animal-printed styles that even I can pull off. Whether it's a leopard print jacket or python boots, these newer, more muted options are perfect for the more timid print-wearers out there (like me!)

This peachy zebra and leopard print dress from Nordstrom is a perfect example. It makes a statement without screaming at you. I love it paired with a leather jacket for some added edge and it would also be cute with a denim coat for spring. This animal-print purchase was one of my firsts, but I have a feeling it won't be my last.

THE POWER PAIRING

West Hollywood, CA

When it comes to styling, opposites definitely attract. And one of my cold weather favorites is the skirt and sweater combo. It's a versatile match that delivers an effortlessly sophisticated feel. And the pairings are endless: a patent leather skirt with a delicate knit, a pleated maxi with a chunky turtleneck, a metallic midi with polka dotted sweater… I could go on and on here. Play with different prints and add bold jewelry for a look that feels full-on fashionable! I toughened up my cozy turtleneck sweater with an edgier leather skirt and threw on a traditional wrap coat for a bit of extra polish. What are some of your favorite sweater and skirt combos?
