Out of Hibernation

Newburyport, MA

There is something about the warm weather that has always made me want to get out more—more dinners, more social gatherings, more weekday date nights, more fun. And, of course, there is always that big internal debate about what to wear. But no matter the season, date night outfits should be: flattering, comfy, and stylish. And if I had to rank them, I’d put comfort at the top—not because I am married and generally less interested in dressing up like I used to but because you have to feel good to have a good time. Trust me, I have ventured out in my share of uncomfortable ensembles and I never end up enjoying myself because I am more focused on my outfit than what’s happening at the dinner.

That’s why I LOVE this outfit from Revolve for summer date nights. Not only are the high-waisted cropped jeans super flattering on all figures but the bodysuit is a one-of-a-kind style that’s as comfy as a leotard. Plus, because there is a lot going on with the neckline so you don’t have to think too much about accessories—just a cute summer bag or simple gold hoops will do the trick!

Summer Date Night Dress

DTLA

IMG_6332.jpg

Getting ready for a date tonight and not sure what to wear? I've been there. For warm night (and day) summer meet-ups, I almost always rely on easy, throw-on-and-go pieces. I'm talking mini dresses, jumpsuits, and flowy maxis.

For casual outdoor drinks, I love this strappy floral mini dress paired with flats (these are insanely affordable by the way!). There's a bit of polish to the look, but overall, it's surprisingly simple. What are some of your date-night go-to's?

SWEATER DRESS OBSESSED

Los Angeles, CA

IMG_4017.jpg

Sweater dresses. Why do I love these cozy, fuzzy knits so much? Well, they are few of the only options that work for those of us who love wearing dresses but hate being cold. Keeping the silhouette I love (let's face it I am always in a dress) but offering a bit more warmth, they're a great option for fall and winter.

This one from Chicwish is perfectly femme with embellished sleeves and sweet crochet detailing. I paired it with gold accents and my new booties from Ann Taylor Factory to keep the look neutral.
