Lighten Up

Marina del Rey, CA

In anticipation of warmer weather to come, I'm beginning to replace heavy winter-wear with a refreshing batch of bright prints and lighter hues. My must-have piece of the moment? A white blazer. Yup, it's time to shelve that go-to black version because sunny days are ahead.

Undeniably versatile, the white blazer can easily take you from a work event (with a high-waisted pencil skirt and pumps) to a GNO (with a silky tank and ripped skinnies) to the weekend (with a casual tank and trousers) and that's just the beginning.

I found this one here at Forever 21 for under $25! What are some of your favorite ways to rock the white blazer?

get it right, get it...

West Hollywood, CA

One of my New Year's resolutions was to develop a more structured fitness routine. Well January (and February) came and went and so did that lofty goal. Between endless workdays and chillier temps, I always found a way to avoid working out.

But the streak is over guys, I just joined a new yoga studio and I even set up a running schedule (seriously) so  I am DOING this. As a little extra motivation, I also restocked my workout wardrobe with some brand new essentials. Check out all my favorites below!

What’s your workout of choice? I’ve been tempted to try out a spinning class but I don't know where to start. For me, barre and yoga classes are ideal for toning and strengthening. If you guys have any others that you love, let me know!

Summer in the City

Los Angeles, CA

During the whacky-weather month of September I'm always a bit confused about how exactly to dress. It's warmer than it's been all year but everywhere I turn I see plush fall styles. And while I'd love to add on a layer like the magazines instruct, it just simply too hot. It was 100 degrees in LA yesterday!

So what should you wear during this transitional time? I say stick to basic, cross-seasonal pieces. These floral shorts are exactly that. I snagged them a couple of weeks ago (for $15) and knew that they would be great for both summer and fall.  Perfect for the office or an afternoon of shopping (which is where I wore them here) you can easily swap out my summery top for a sweater when things begin to cool off.
