ADIOS AMIGOS!

There are certain pieces that you definitely don’t need by the time you reach your 30’s. Low-rise skinnies, tube-tops, and short denim skirts immediately come to mind. So while I struggle sometimes with tossing away old things, (I am definitely the type that sometimes says, “What if there’s a costume party?” or “What if this style comes back in 3 years?”) I have learned that closet space is more valuable than the possibility of wearing a lace top to an 80’s party.

Another thing I’ve learned? Your style needs to evolve as you mature. And that doesn’t mean you need to abandon your quirky ways or personal preferences. It simply means that you may need to revamp things and adjust from time to time.

For me, I have always loved ultra-girly details: ruffles, lace, bowties—all of it. And I have learned that it’s still ok to pepper that into my wardrobe. However, there are moments and pieces that may be more fitting than others.

This ruffled skirt has garnered me tons of compliments over the last couple of weeks and while it is bordering on young, the length, accessories, and simplicity of the tops I have it paired with here make it perfect for just about everything I take on in my thirty-year-old day.

What are some more styles you guys think we should part ways with?

Show A Little Shoulder

Westwood, CA

The off-the-shoulder dress. No longer just a trend, this summery silhouette has become a wardrobe essential. It's flirty, fun and unlike last season's crop top its really easy to wear. So what more could you want in a dress? I say nothing.

The polka-dotted number I chose to wear today from SHEIN is a standout. I love the cinched waist, silky feel and ruffled details. Oh and it's on SALE now! From gingham prints to beachy daytime styles, the off-the-shoulder dress is my pick for everything summer (day or night!)

I am a collector of polka dots.  My closet is already covered in dots but it seems that I am always adding more. Playful and outfit-energizing, I can’t seem to stay away from a print that is just so classically cute.

Today, I paired this breezy spotted number with my brand new Brassy oxfords from Restricted Shoes.  With side cutouts and a woven front design, they offer a summery fresh take on classic design. I adore them! Perfect for pairing with boyfriend jeans, crisp white trousers, or afternoon dresses, these are a great alternative to basic flats this season!

I have been making a real effort to enjoy the outdoors this summer. Whether it’s eating lunch at the park down the street from the office (as we did here) or pushing myself to go for a run along the beach after work, it’s a beautiful time of year and we’ve got to get out there and make the best of it!

Oh and hey! Restricted Shoes is offering you guys 25% off sitewide for all full-priced items. Just use the code WK25. Valid through July 31.
