JUMP INTO THE WEEKEND

Los Angeles, CA

This week has been a long one. Filled with late nights and long office hours, I am ready to kick back and take a few days away from the grind. Tonight I'm heading out in one of my favorite jumpsuits of the season. It will undoubtedly make you feel gorgeous, even after an exhausting week. I used to reserve rompers and jumpsuits for casual daytime settings but it's clear that times have changed. This new nighttime staple has many iterations but I love how this particular one incorporates velvet for fall. So easy to dress up or down, it is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Detailed sleeves, plaid prints, bold red shades... these are a few of my favorite fall things. And today's outfit has a bit of all three!

It's fashion's favorite season and that means it's time to switch up your everyday style and go a little bolder than before.

Here are some current trends to try on right now:

PILE ON THE PLAID

From classic tartan to gingham, it's the print that was simply made for fall.

ROCK RUFFLES

The sweetest detail of the season? Ruffles. I just can't get enough.

RULE IN RED

Equal parts flirty and fiery, red is the standout color of the season. I've been finding fun ways to incorporate it into my everyday look. A bright handbag or a statement shoe is just enough to give your tee and jeans a serious kick of style.

What are some trends you guys can't get enough of this season?

ADIOS AMIGOS!

West Hollywood, CA

There are certain pieces that you definitely don’t need by the time you reach your 30’s. Low-rise skinnies, tube-tops, and short denim skirts immediately come to mind. So while I struggle sometimes with tossing away old things, (I am definitely the type that sometimes says, “What if there’s a costume party?” or “What if this style comes back in 3 years?”) I have learned that closet space is more valuable than the possibility of wearing a lace top to an 80’s party.

Another thing I’ve learned? Your style needs to evolve as you mature. And that doesn’t mean you need to abandon your quirky ways or personal preferences. It simply means that you may need to revamp things and adjust from time to time.

For me, I have always loved ultra-girly details: ruffles, lace, bowties—all of it. And I have learned that it’s still ok to pepper that into my wardrobe. However, there are moments and pieces that may be more fitting than others.

This ruffled skirt has garnered me tons of compliments over the last couple of weeks and while it is bordering on young, the length, accessories, and simplicity of the tops I have it paired with here make it perfect for just about everything I take on in my thirty-year-old day.

What are some more styles you guys think we should part ways with?
