Winter Culottes

We got a taste of summer last week. The temps in LA reached the high 80’s and 90’s! And while I realize that lots of the country is still frost-covered, it got me seriously dreaming about spring. Now I don’t know about you guys, but I’m definitely ready for a refreshing new color palate!

I was one of the few people in the city who worked on President’s Day. And because it was a 90 degree holiday, I decided to sport these breezy culottes to the office. I paired them with a fitted striped top, booties and a blazer for a look that felt both sophisticated and spring-ready! Culottes are incredibly flattering and cross-seasonal. They wear well with tee shirts, chunky sweaters and denim jackets. But as versatile as they are, I have to admit, they're definitely harder to pull off during wintertime. Not to worry! A Cropped Christmas

Merry Christmas Eve! I made it back to the East Coast just in time for the holiday AND for this wild winter heat wave. It’s warmer here in Boston than it was when I left Los Angeles and it honestly feels like spring is in the air. Everyone here seems to be excited about it, but I have to say, I really enjoy my yearly snow fix. And who doesn’t love a white Christmas?

Here’s to hoping things take a turn for the cold! Until then, I’ll be dressed accordingly. I’m wearing this fun cropped turtleneck top and a vegan leather midi skirt. I love a good midi skirt this time of year and I must say, it’s pretty great that I can actually wear these pieces outside today.

Everyone’s favorite winter staple is stepping its way into spring.

Remember that midi skirt I wore back in January while hiking the hills of San Francisco? Well it’s making a comeback here today.

Bouncy, fun and oh so feminine it’s perfect for a daytime brunch or in my case here, a dinner downtown. There is something so inherently fun about wearing this skirt. Skipping along the city streets, I actually began to forget all about how far I was walking or the fact that I had forgotten to bring a coat. It’s the perfect alternative to your traditional evening get-up.

So go ahead, get girly and try out the cross-seasonal midi.
