IN THE MIX

Double or nothing. Sometimes I enjoy pairing my stripes with my florals and dots- and other things that don’t conventionally match. It doesn’t ALWAYS work but when it does, it’s fun. I love doing this for office days. I partner my striped cardigan with a floral skirt or leopard flats to give things a twist.

Today, I’m wearing a lightweight striped sweater with ripped skinnies and a leather jacket. It’s a classic look but I think the addition of the leopard clutch really takes things up a notch.

What are some of your favorite materials to to mix?

Animal prints are like neutrals—they show up on every fashion girls IT list, season after season. Black, beige and powerful, these patterns add that necessary edge to your everyday wardrobe.

But if I'm being honest, it took be YEARS to get on board with this trend. In fact, this might be the first piece I've ever owned. Seriously. I saw this dress on the sale rack at The Loft last week and I was finally swayed. The bold leopard print is nicely balanced out by a sweet lavender color and ruffled hem.

If you're anything like me and you fear the pattern will swallow you whole, an animal print accessory (like the ones I've included below) can be just as eye-catching.

Dress: LOFT (Found in store)

Pumps: Nine West

Jacket: Borrowed (Similar at Charlotte Russe)
