Endless Summer.

While everyone has begun to stir about fall, apple pies and back-to-school season, I simply can’t bare to think about the idea of summer coming to an end.   I am one of those people who hangs on to summer until late October. So if we are going by my calendar we are a long ways away.  That being said, this look is bright bold and oh so summery, perfect for steamy days like today.

On this Friday, I decided to dress up this adorable romper from TJMaxx by adding my pastel wedges from Lulus.  Check out the scalloped detail on the shorts! I can’t get enough of that cut this season.  While this could easily be used as a cover-up for the beach, it becomes a great outfit when you add a pop of a heel into the mix.  Oh and the best part about this look? The whole thing is under $100.

Hope this inspires you to brighten up your wardrobe this Friday and enjoy the summer sun!

A Fresh Cut and A Canceled Flight.

June 22, 2014.

Well, it was right around this exact time that I was supposed to be landing in Barcelona, Spain.  However, due to a canceled flight, instead of the tapas and sangria I imagined for myself, I’m headed back to LAX to try this process yet again. Bahumbug, right?  Well, not completely! While this is my first European adventure and it’s certainly already starting out with its set of quirks, I ended up having a pretty great impromptu night out in LA with my friends in Venice last night.  It’s always those unplanned adventures that turn out to be the best nights and this turned out to be one of them! We hopped around the town and soon I forgot all about my travel woes- it was great!

In other news, I finally got a little haircut! It’s always so rejuvenating to get a fresh chop and it’s a great way to kick off the summer.  My Mum snapped these photos after some shopping and dinner at the lovely outdoor Century City Mall.  I love grabbing drinks outside at Pink Taco- especially love their Taco Tuesday specials- and on summer nights it’s just a great place to catch up with friends.  We had so much fun- can’t wait for my Madre to get back out here again! Xo

Today’s outfit is perfect for a fun and casual summer day. I just got these amazing new custom sunglasses from Firmoo.com and they’re my newest obsession.  I love the tortoise frame!  They’re lightweight and dainty, but manage to still make a statement. I find it’s hard to find this combo, as a lot of glasses are too big for my face and these are just perfect!  I paired this graphic tank with my go-to boyfriend jean shorts from Urban Outfitters and my new seacoast pink Sperry Topsiders, all quickly becoming staples in my summer wardrobe.

I’m off to the airport. Wish me luck!

Hair Up/ Shades On.

cool full lenght glasses.jpg

Happy Friday everyone!  After a long week of travel, I woke up today not feeling like doing much more than throwing my hair in a big knot on the top of my head.  Sometimes the week just catches up to you and today feels like one of those days for me.  But instead of letting it get the best of me, I let my lazy hairdo inspire today’s summery get-up.

This whole look took about 15 minutes to put together!  I found the dress, thought “Oh these shoes would be perfect”, and somehow it all just seemed to fit together just right.  How great is it when that happens?  And even though I simply intended for a “passable” “get-me-through-the-day” sort of look, I ended up really loving what I came up with here.   I grabbed this adorable daisy print dress I’ve been wanting to wear from Forever21 and paired it with my go-to staple necklace from Ruche.   To add to the retro look that I was going for today, I added a bold red lip, my round rimmed sunglasses, and bandeau headband.  The bold lip also helps to distract from sleepy eyes and the headband helps to hide the bumps in my not-so-perfect hair, so you see, it’s a win-win!
