Jump Right In

West Hollywood, CA

Have you figured out what you're wearing for Valentine's Day yet? I'm always a supporter of the LBD or a cute little dress, but this year, the jumpsuit gets my vote. Not only is it totally versatile, but it also requires very little thought when it comes to accessorizing.  Just toss on a few standout accessories and you're ready for drinks with the girls, a fancy dinner with your man, or wherever the night takes you.

I adore this classic burgundy jumpsuit because it's easy to dress up with statement earrings and mules (like I did here) or down with sneakers and a cropped jacket, incase you're heading to a movie.

A Classic Valentine

Beachwood Canyon, Los Angeles

Valentine's Day is just one day away! And whether you're planning a night out on the town or a relaxing dinner with your special someone, it's safe to say that "date night attire" is required.

I have always been smitten with classics. I love Black and White Cinema, songs by Ella Fitzgerald and classic TV shows. I still dream of my tiny 20's-style apartment over on La Brea and I often gravitate towards vintage inspired clothing. There just seemed to be something so lovely, so simple, so utterly romantic about the past.  Thus, when I want to feel most special,  I go classic.

This bow tie dress is just perfect. It's from one of my favorite vintage-inspired shops, Ruche.

Happy Valentine's Day loves!

Sweet Sweet Wintertime

February 11, 2014

Los Angeles, CA

Say what?

It’s eighty degrees in February? I’ll take it!
Yes it’s summer in Los Angeles this week.  The air is warm and everyone’s beginning to think of the lighter brighter days ahead. I’m soaking up these jacket-less evenings and breezy sun-kissed afternoon lunch breaks because although it’s never really cold here, this week has certainly felt like a treat.

Ok so I am actually laughing at myself as I type this because while yes it is great to have a bit of a heat wave here, I can’t help but acknowledge the fact that I have lost my sense of the seasons. My family and friends, who live back east, talk about snow and Arctic-like temps almost daily. It seems like every time I speak to them there is another blizzard! In fact, my sister informed me yesterday that her husband was quite literally skiing to work in the city of Boston.

Say Whaaat??!

Regardless of your current climate, spring is truly right around the corner (I swear!) and brightening your look is as easy as adding a vibrant color or flirty print!

Today, I attempted to make wardrobe mixing chic with this fiery floral and polka-dot combo. In the spirit of Valentines Day, I went with a look that is perfectly ladylike and ultra femme.  This ruffled blouse tucks in nicely to a high-waisted skirt or fitted trouser pant and a bold red lip gives your look a playful final touch.

If you’re going for a casual afternoon soiree this V-Day, this is perfect.  I have included some similar outfit ideas below for those of you in colder climates too!
